We all have a vacation we’ve always dreamed of taking but very few of us spend the time it takes to save up the money to go on such a trip. Here are some of the best tips that can help you successfully save up for the vacation of your dreams.

Open a bank account specifically for vacation savings

Out of sight, out of mind right? Putting your money into a savings account only for vacation can keep you from spending that money on other things that can keep you from going on that trip you’ve wanted for so long! You can go to a bank to open an account or open one online which can offer a little more convenience.

Save money on food costs

You’d be surprised at how much money you can save by buying your favorite foods in bulk or using recipes that call for less expensive ingredients. You can also look at your typical grocery list and cut out some of the more expensive items on your list.

Use your car for extra-income

Working for Uber or Lyft can provide you with as much or as little extra-income as you want! You set your own hours, work as much as you want, and make money on the side. Put on your favorite playlist and get to know some people around town- what’s so bad about that?

Pick up another job

There are plenty of side jobs that you can work into your schedule ranging from normal to unusual- it could be fun to try something new! Lots of employers hire seasonally, so if you’re looking for work around a busy season it can be very easy to find a part-time job with a standard retailer or restaurant.

Save money by putting a hold on your gym membership

You don’t have to sacrifice your health or your goals of fitting into those skinny jeans just because you want to go on a vacation- but do keep in mind there are so many free resources to use for at-home and outdoor workouts it could add a good chunk to your vacation savings every month to put it on hold for a while.
